Epic!!!!

Just would like to share this snippet that I found in Redza Minhat's tweets.... It is super duper hilarious!!!!

It totally reminds me of Indonesian sinetron (soap opera) that are aired in the local tv stations. All these while I thought that I am the only one who noticed that why in the world that the camera must focused on the actors' facial expression for a good 5-10 minutes!! lol...

Truly epic!!! must definitely share this!! Enjoy!! hahahaha

J'adore peplum!

Peplums! Peplums! Peplums!

I know they have been around for yonks, but it is somehow now it has been reincarnated and deemed cool by the fashionistas once again (well at least, on my side of the globe... haha.... but then again, Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian etc have been spotted wearing peplums more than once this past few months...). It is like I can't go into any stores or even online fashion websites without seeing them in all sorts of patterns ie flat, check, polka dots, stripes, Aztec, flowery, short/long sleeves, sleeveless and the list goes on and on and on. You see what I mean now? (haha)

But the thing is, I am not the least bothered by the abundance of it as I think I'm crazy about them too! This week only, I wore two types of peplums to work, short sleeves on Tuesday and long sleeves today, Thursday (yup like every other day... hehe). The scary part is, I think if I have more peplums in my collection, I would be wearing them everyday of the week! (Yikes!!!) I mean I can already imagine what Joan Rivers would have said about my fashion sense and I may be fined by the fashion police (lol). To justify a bit, I believe my adoration of peplums derived from its design which I find very practical. It looks dressy enough for work, date night or casual outing and it covers your behind for anyone who has issues with it. Isn't that just perfect? :)

Please excuse the oh! so not glamorous background... haha

A night without baby girl

The company that I am attached to now is organising a team building this weekend. All of the staffs are required to stay over for one night at a resort and we were supposed to do some activities that could make us stronger together as a team or at least try to bond with one another in a more relaxed environment.

Easy peasy right? Not quite...

For the past 22 months of my baby girl's life she has been sleeping with me every night. Yes... every single night of her existence! There were times when I had to work late and thus found her sound asleep when I reached home. Nonetheless, I guess her "my mummy is back instinct" is so strong that whenever I'm back she will definitely woke up and asked to be breastfed.

I am supposed to leave in 2 days time and I am having sleepless nights thinking about it... Can I do this? Can I really leave her with her daddy? The resort is just about 1 hour and a half or 2 hours drive from our house but the theory that daddy supposed to be able to do almost the same job as a mummy does not goes very well in my household. It is usually, daddy will play with baby girl until she gets tired and bored (not necessarily in that order) and calls mummy to do whatever is necessary to entertain, calm her or to tuck her to bed. Yikes!!! I can't do this!!! :((

But... the team building is mandatory for all staffs and I am very much still in need to keep my job so off I will go this weekend... Wish me luck...

Breastfeeding and a working mummy

Been receiving complaints from the little miss diva ie "I want nenen (breast milk)!! I want nenen!!" incessantly despite I have been nursing her on normal basis. Since little miss diva is already 22 months plus now, I was under the impression that "this mobile milk vending machine" is no longer producing milk like a cow anymore (mooooooooo...). Therefore, I was quite amused to find that today I manage to produce almost 4oz of milk (yeay!). Believed that this is the result of all of the chocolates that I have been hoovering since lunch time (justifying the excessive chocolates intake... lol).

This is quite an achievement as since baby girl reaches her 17 months marks she is no longer on breast milk exclusively. I had to supplement her with formula milk as work commitment deter me from following the initial schedule of 2 times a day (morning and after lunch) and an additional session if I had to work late. Now, the expressing session has been reduced to one session per day.

Working long hours can sometimes gets really stressful and takes a toll on my body, therefore my decision to supplement her with formula back then was a highly needed action to ease my body a little and at the same time to ensure that she still gets all the nutrients that a baby/toddler needed to grow up healthy and happy. At first I did have the emotional dilemma on whether I am not a good mother and had I not try hard enough to exclusively nurse her for the full 2 years. But whenever self doubt sets in, I always believe in my mantra that "I did try my best" and "a happy mummy is always a better mummy than a stressful and a grumpy mummy". :)

JB and the long weekend activities

Coming back from a long wonderful weekend is always the hardest. I mean after 5 days of holidays of practically doing fun things, one have to be back at work and expected to concentrate all day (and sometimes night) to meet never ending datelines and meetings and everything in between.

To pick up some momentum on this incredibly hard Tuesday morning, I would like to share some of the things that I've done during the weekend.

1) I cut the little bunny's fringe. Yup, having a kid is like having a real life baby doll!! You can practically do anything you like and most of the time she won't protest... much! lol... like dressing her up as you like etc... hehehe... I know, I know this won't last long as the moment that she is old enough to have her own fashion sense,  mummy is no longer able to dress her as mummy wants. But at the moment, I am enjoying my little baby doll to the fullest! Ok, talking about this new haircut, I love it as it does not cover her cute little face but hubby is not a fan of the new haircut, he thinks this new haircut is too common for toddlers and that the little bunny have lost her edginess (bla, bla bla.... yup hubster is obsessed with his daughter's hair :p).

2) All of us went back to JB to attend a cousin's wedding back in my hometown. Note that the little bunny is high on chocolate chips cookies! My baby's diet is always on holiday when we are on holiday. Not advisable, but I believe in moderation. She is allowed to enjoy herself in moderation, of course. :)

3) As we are back in my hometown, it is a must that we have our own little escapades to enjoy the delicacies there. Hubby and I had a little time off without the little bunny and we went to Taman Sentosa, JB to enjoy a little bit of JB's delicacy - the bubur (porridge) set. I totally LOVE the bubur set in JB, we just ordered "bubur set" and it comes with all the complements as opposed to KL's Kampung Baru bubur when you are supposed to choose the complements and always ended up ordering more than you need and obviously paying such a ludicrous amount of money to just eat bubur. I miss you already Taman Sentosa's bubur set....

4) Of course, more time spent with the little bunny. JB was exceptionally hot last weekend, so we entertained the little bunny with a little water park (ok, ok, ok not comparable to a water park :p) fun, but to a 1 year 10 months old baby that is almost like a theme park for her! (I think, judging from her delighted face and her refusal to leave the blow up swimming pool) :)

5) And yes, more food escapades! Just a little note for the foodies, this nasi beryani stall is the BOMB! It is located at the Tepian Tebrau hawker's stalls. For those of you who are familiar with this place, it is no longer located in front of the Lido beach. It has been re-located to somewhere near the English College, behind Mcdonalds, Jalan Sungai Chat.

Not too bad for a long weekend, I reckon. :)

Once upon a year plus ago...

Once upon a year plus ago I was very pregnant and big... I mean BIG... HUGE!! I didn't know why I didn't blog my pregnancy journey... oh ya! Maybe because I was sick most of the time and didn't really into blogging and putting up my fat face/body in the Internet (more into I can't accept the fact that I was as big as a whale and scared that I may NEVER get my pre-pregnancy body back.. lol)...

But now, body has gone back to normal and all is good so I don't mind sharing my big pregnant belly with the rest of the cyber world population (that is if there are people out there who actually find the time to read my blog... haha)... But actually my body had gone back to normal 2-3 months after giving birth but back then I was so happy and pre-occupied with the precious little princess that I didn't find the time to do anything else apart from spending ALL my time with her... so now (having a few minutes to spend)... would like to share my pregnancy photos in my blog... :)

note how fat my fingers looked in the photo.... hehehe.... or may be it is bloated... coz this photo is taken a few days before I went into labour... :)

...and this is how my once ginormous belly look now....
so to all pregnant mothers out there.... don't worry... your body WILL get back to pre-pregnancy state... my secret? Breastfeeding!!! I swear on that!

Trekking at Sungai Pisang

My husband and I are two people who just love spontaneity. We are the kind of people who woke up one weekend morning and decided that we NEED to go to Pulau Kapas and Lake Kenyir, like NOW! haha... And this is not only a figure of speech. We really did this before. But since the arrival of our long awaited princess sugar pie, we don't really do things spontaneously as I find it too difficult to leave her or think too much whether those trips will make her feel uncomfortable etc (princess sugar pie is 22 months now btw! yeay!).

So last Sunday, we were thinking, we may not be able to fly to Koh Samui just because we feel like it but we can go to any nearby places to destress, rewind and be one with nature! So off we went for jungle trekking at Sungai Pisang. And I think I've been bitten by the hiking bug! Enjoyed it thoroughly.... loved, loved, loved it! :)

It is located about 40-45 minutes drive from the city centre and situated near the orang asli village in Gombak. It is near the Karak Highway and I believe near Bentong. It is quite easy to get there and after 45 minutes of jungle and river trekking, we finally found the majestic waterfall. It is not that big actually, but for city sleekers like my husband and I, it was a Sunday well spent!...

These tunnels are part of the track to get there... Quite interesting having to go through the tunnel, just a note, bring a small torch light as it can get quite dark some where in the middle. Was told there can be creepy creatures like frogs or even snakes looming around the area too, so be careful! But other than that, it was exciting!

Lush greenery have a very calming effect. Highly recommended for city folks who want to have a short back to nature retreat!
Ahhh... and don't forget to try the waterfall abseiling. Didn't get to try it that day, but will definitely come back again to try it!

3 days and counting

Just deactivated my FB page 3 days ago and in order to stabilise my addiction, I've decided to blog more often instead.

A few friends of mine have noticed that I've deactivated my FB page. In relation to some "unauthorised" photo tagging that, that friend of mine thought to be the trigger to my decision, that friend of mine have sent me a quite lengthy sms to seek for my forgiveness (sweet! but that is not the trigger actually.. lol). Nonetheless, I find it quite amusing that some people would find that my decision to deactivate my account is so dramatic and as if it is the end of the world! (lol again...)

My husband (yes, I'm married if my previous postings did not give you enough indication of my marital status already... :p) have been asking me on daily basis whether I have re-activate (is this correct... shheesshhh all these terms are driving me nuts) the blasted FB account. As at now, the answer is still NO.

I admit that FB is quite addictive especially during those time where boredom seeps in and you really need to divert your mind to a "happy" place. Ahhhh.... the "happy place".... That's the problem.... FB do not provide me with the "happy place" or happy state of mind anymore. There are just too much animosity posted by friends, acquaintances etc. Too many postings on friends preaching you (religious preachings, motivational preachings, political stands etc etc etc) and the list goes on and on. Not too mention the people with "my life is so beautiful", "I'm so happy with my perfect husband", "perfect kids", "perfect jobs", "perfect life" yadda, yadda, yadda.... Hahaha.... by now, if anybody reading this blog of mine must have thought that this girl is full of hatred and jealousy....lol... Well, this is my blog and I don't give a damn... hehehe...

Enough on me lamenting about FB... my rule of thumb: if you need to complaint, make it short and sweet. ;)

Not sure until when I can resist FB but for now I am 3 days and counting!

xoxo :)
