My husband and I are two people who just love spontaneity. We are the kind of people who woke up one weekend morning and decided that we NEED to go to Pulau Kapas and Lake Kenyir, like NOW! haha... And this is not only a figure of speech. We really did this before. But since the arrival of our long awaited princess sugar pie, we don't really do things spontaneously as I find it too difficult to leave her or think too much whether those trips will make her feel uncomfortable etc (princess sugar pie is 22 months now btw! yeay!).
So last Sunday, we were thinking, we may not be able to fly to Koh Samui just because we feel like it but we can go to any nearby places to destress, rewind and be one with nature! So off we went for jungle trekking at Sungai Pisang. And I think I've been bitten by the hiking bug! Enjoyed it thoroughly.... loved, loved, loved it! :)
It is located about 40-45 minutes drive from the city centre and situated near the orang asli village in Gombak. It is near the Karak Highway and I believe near Bentong. It is quite easy to get there and after 45 minutes of jungle and river trekking, we finally found the majestic waterfall. It is not that big actually, but for city sleekers like my husband and I, it was a Sunday well spent!...
These tunnels are part of the track to get there... Quite interesting having to go through the tunnel, just a note, bring a small torch light as it can get quite dark some where in the middle. Was told there can be creepy creatures like frogs or even snakes looming around the area too, so be careful! But other than that, it was exciting!
Lush greenery have a very calming effect. Highly recommended for city folks who want to have a short back to nature retreat!
Ahhh... and don't forget to try the waterfall abseiling. Didn't get to try it that day, but will definitely come back again to try it!
xoxo
